Hill Manager

Hill Manager position is a full time seasonal position with remuneration based on skill, qualifications, and experience.  Hill manager reports to the Board of Directors. This is a working manager position that requires the leader to represent the Ski Hill in a friendly and professional manner, to be enthusiastic, and to be able to work with staff.    Some of the responsibilities, but not limited to, include: hiring, training, scheduling, supervising of staff, organize and participate in staff safety meetings and safety hazard assessments, assist in rental shop, oversee and participate in lift, groomer, snow making equipment ,and sled maintenance and repair.  Some safety certifications would be an asset. Shifts include a mix of day and evening shifts Thursday to Sunday with additional days for maintenance and repairs.

 

Lift Operators

Lift Operators should enjoy working with the public.  Lift operators are responsible for doing start up safety checks, operating the ski lift and ensuring the safety of the skiers and public, and other duties as required.  You must be willing to work outdoors and dress appropriately. You may also need to operate a snowmobile and show competency in this regard. Shifts include a mix of day and evening shifts Thursday to Sunday with occasional opportunities outside those days (Family day, other weekdays for school reschedules).  Wages start at $15/hr with some ski perks included.

 

Kitchen Staff

Kitchen staff must enjoy working with the public and should be prepared for a fast paced environment.  Knowledge of food safety and basic food prep is an asset. Previous money handling and cash register experience is preferred.  You may need to perform other duties as required. Shifts include a mix of day and evening shifts Thursday to Sunday with occasional opportunities outside those days (Family day, other weekdays for school reschedules).  Wages start at $15/hr with some ski perks included.  

 

Kitchen Lead

We are looking for a mature person with experience to manage the kitchen.  Pro Serve and Food Handlers Certification are required for this position. You must be prepared for a fast paced environment and enjoy working with the public.  You should have good organizational skills to aid you in scheduling staff, ordering supplies, and general kitchen operations. You will be responsible for the practice of all health and safety regulations.  Shifts include a mix of day and evening shifts Thursday to Sunday with occasional opportunities outside those days (Family day, other weekdays for school reschedules).  Wage range is $16 - $19/hr depending on experience, with some ski perks included. 

 

Office Lead

Office lead is responsible for the smooth overall operation of the office.  As manager you must enjoy working with the public in a fast paced environment.  We are looking for a mature person with computer experience. Duties include (but are not limited to) scheduling office staff, answering the phone, handling cash, processing interact transactions, operating the cash register, end of the day reconciliation, bank deposits, booking ski lessons, liaising with schools, selling lift passes, lessons, and rental equipment, and entering daily data into the computer.  You may be required to create promotional events and then advertise them. Some experience with Sage 50 Quantum accounting is an asset. Shifts include a mix of day and evening shifts Thursday to Sunday with occasional opportunities outside those days (Family day, other weekdays for school reschedules).  Wage range is $16 - $19/hr depending on experience, with some ski perks included.


 

Office Staff

Office staff must enjoy working with the public and be prepared for a fast paced environment.  We are looking for a mature person with some computer experience. Duties include (but are not limited to) answering the phone, handling cash,  processing interact transactions, operating the cash register, end of the day reconciliation, bank deposits, booking ski lessons, liaising with schools, selling lift passes, lessons, and rental equipment, and entering daily data into the computer.  Some experience with Sage 50 Quantum accounting is an asset. Shifts include a mix of day and evening shifts Thursday to Sunday with occasional opportunities outside those days (Family day, other weekdays for school reschedules).  Wage starts at $16/hr with some ski perks included.

 

Groomer Operator

Groomer operator is responsible for (but not limited to) preparing the hill so it is safe and enjoyable for the public before the hill opens each morning.  Operator must have good mechanical skills, have experience operating heavy equipment, and able to perform physical or manual duties. You must be prepared to work outside and dress appropriately.  Shifts would be early morning Thursday – Sunday with the occasional additional morning. Wages start at $18/hr with some ski perks included.

 

Snow Makers

Snow makers must be prepared to be outside in all weather conditions and be dressed appropriately.  You are responsible for (but not limited to) starting up or shutting down snowmaking equipment, placing snow guns and hoses on the hill, maintaining snow gun operation efficiency, operating high voltage equipment and high pressure water systems using appropriate safety precautions.  Candidates should have some basic knowledge of machinery and experience in running a snowmobile. Shifts would be day, evening, or night shifts for the duration of snowmaking. Wages start at: day & evening shift $15/hr, night shift $16/hr.

 

Rental Shop

Rental shop technicians should enjoy working with the public, and be prepared for a fast paced environment.  The ability to ski or snowboard would be an asset. Rental technicians are responsible for the proper fitting of ski/snowboard boots and setting bindings and other duties as required.  A certification course must be attended and is provided by Valley Ski Hill. Shifts include a mix of day and evening shifts Thursday to Sunday with occasional opportunities outside those days (Family day, other weekdays for school reschedules).  Wages start at $15/hr with some ski perks available.
